Week 9

This week we used Dreamweaver to create an educational website. I found it fun and easy to do at the moment, but am not sure if I will remember how to do it in the future. It was easy enough to customize my website to a point. I made a website that could be used for my future classroom to give information to the parents and students in my class.

Week 8

This week we are creating a website. There are many sites available to make a free website but it usually costs to publish them each month and then they are stuck on that server. Dreamweaver is the program that we used to create our customized web site. Western owns Dreamweaver and it is available via the remote desktop for future use.

Week 7

This week we worked with IPads and IPods. We looked at some of the different applications available that are relevant to education. We also created a lesson plan using one of the IPad applications. 

Week 6

This week in class we used Garage Band to make a podcast about something interesting to us. It was fun to create the podcast using our voice, music, and pictures.

Week 5

This week in class we used clickers and other virtual scoring methods. Socrative.com is a site that can be used to post questions to a class and they can answer the question via computer or smart phone. This is a very cool free way to get responses from students. Different settings existed so a quiz could be given. We also looked at some different web sites to see if they were real or not. Most of them were not real. One needs to be very cautious with sites on the Internet to be sure to check their validity.

Week 4

This week in class we used Google Earth to make a map of interesting places. We explored the different features of Google Earth and then made a map of 5 different places including a picture and a brief description of the place. I made a map of places that I am going to travel this summer. This was a fun project. It is amazing how many things Google Earth can do. It was fun to zoom in on my house, and my parents house and see the results.

Week 3

This week we worked on making video's to promote a product or idea in I-Movie. I found filming the video fun but using I-Movie was more challenging since I had never used it before. Our video was promoting "Not Drinking Alcohol While Pregnant."
